A Glimpse into PITAKA's Amber Magnet Film™ Technology

Technology

Amber Magnet Film™, MagSafe SlimBoard™ Module 2.0, is a revolutionary technology developed by PITAKA in 2023. It employs a special coating process to create a protective layer on magnet surfaces. Under high temperature and high pressure, this coating is fused with an aramid fiber shell and resin, completely wrapping the magnets like amber. With a glue-free process, this innovation offers a seamless and secure integral effect, making the product environmentally friendly and effectively safeguarding the magnets against corrosion and damage.

Technical Features

Slimmer Profile

The MagSafe SlimBoard™ Module 2.0 integrates the MagSafe ring and the phone case into a single unit, simplifying the phone case structure to just two layers. As a result, the phone case weighs only 12.1g and measures a mere 0.69mm thick*, 27% thinner than its predecessor.

(*Data is obtained from PITAKA laboratory tests using an iPhone 15 Pro case as the sample. There may be deviations due to variables.)

Visible MagSafe Ring

The MagSafe ring is completely encased like amber. It is visible but not exposed, effectively protecting the back of your phone from scratches.

Glue-free Processing

By fusing the MagSafe ring with aramid fiber and resin, the in-mold processing involves no glues and prevents magnets from collapsing or falling off, making the phone case safer and more environmentally friendly.

The Difference Between MagEZ Case 4 and MagEZ Case 5

The MagEZ Case 4 is made with the MagSafe SlimBoard Module™ 1.0, which consists of three layers: an exterior layer of aramid fiber, a middle layer of MagSafe magnets, and an interior layer of aramid fiber. This case weighs about 19-24 grams.

In contrast, the MagEZ Case 5 utilizes the Amber Magnet Film™, i.e. MagSafe SlimBoard™ Module 2.0. This innovative design combines the MagSafe magnets layer and the aramid fiber interior layer into a single unit, reducing the structure of the case to just two layers. As a result, the weight of the case is reduced to 12-16 grams, making it noticeably lighter and thinner.
